Care for washed linen, washed cotton and cotton velvet

linge de lit en lin lavé, edredon, coussin

Here are our little tips for caring for your linens according to fabric.

Washed linen and cotton gauze:

When you want to wash washed linen bed linen (linen comforter cover, draps, pillow cases etc..), you can machine wash up to 60 degrees. You can go that high because washed linen is raw linen stretched in special machines or with lava stones.

Linen becomes very soft and pre-shrunk. The fact that linen is washed, it will no longer be able to shrink (unlike raw linen), it will, on the contrary, tend to expand a little at first.

The care of your cotton gaze bed linen will be identical to washed linen linen:

For the Dili range from the Harmony brand

For example, don't worry if your washed linen or washed cotton comforter cover becomes a little larger than your comforter. All materials move a little in one direction or another, and in this case washed materials move by getting slightly bigger (a few centimeters at most).

The advantage of having comforters in washed linen or washed cotton is that they become softer and softer over time and the colors patinate.

If you have a tumble dryer, you can use it, otherwise you can leave them to air dry. If you lay them out well, there's no need to iron them. The slightly crumpled look gives that little bohemian chic edge.

When it comes to a washed linen curtain such as curtains from the brand "Epic, Dune " or curtains Porticcio from the brand Haomy, you need to wash them maximum at 30 degrees with a small spin as you have eyelets on these two models. You don't want them to rust or tear from the curtain.

For the Lurimodel, you just need to remove the rings/pins, and you'll be able to wash them up to 60 degrees (first wash cold so the black croquet doesn't fade) since there are no eyelets on this washed linen curtain.

So anything related to washed linen: linen quilt, linen set, linen cushion, linen tablecloth ... you can follow the advice on the paragraphs above.

Cotton velvet:

As far as cotton velvet is concerned (we don't sell polyester velvet), we'd advise for any item: velvet cushion, velvet quilt, velvet curtain... to wash in cold water, either by hand or machine.

Cotton velvet on the other hand shouldn't stretch or shrink, as it's hairs that make up the velvet.

Example velvet range: new Delhi from the Haomybrand, Médicis from the En fil d'Indienne brand, Elise from the Vivaraise brand.

We recently began offering the Duo curtain from the En fil d'Indienne, velvet and linen brand.
